The Parker PoleStar Smart Refrigeration Dryer is engineered for the efficient removal of water vapour from compressed air systems, providing reliable moisture control while minimising energy consumption and operating costs. Designed with advanced energy management technology, PoleStar Smart dryers deliver consistent dew point performance while automatically adapting to changing system conditions.
At the core of the dryer is a direct-expansion refrigeration system, which cools the compressed air to condense and remove moisture before delivering dry air to the downstream distribution network. This process prevents condensation, corrosion and moisture-related damage within compressed air systems and connected equipment.
A key innovation within the PoleStar Smart range is the patented SmartSave energy-saving feature. This intelligent control system continuously monitors operating conditions and adjusts the dryer’s operation accordingly. During periods of partial load, the system cycles the refrigerant compressor while utilising the cold reserve stored in the SmartPack heat exchanger, ensuring accurate dew point control while significantly reducing energy consumption.
The dryer incorporates Parker’s patented SmartPack aluminium heat exchanger, an integrated “all-in-one” design that combines multiple heat exchange functions into a single compact unit. Its large open channels and elimination of interconnecting pipework allow compressed air to pass freely through the dryer, dramatically reducing pressure losses and helping minimise the hidden energy costs associated with pressure drop.
PoleStar Smart dryers are also designed with environmental responsibility in mind. All units utilise R513A refrigerant, a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant that complies with modern F-Gas environmental regulations.
The system is managed by an advanced electronic controller, with touch screen interfaces available on larger models. These controllers provide detailed operational monitoring and enable remote communication capabilities for integration into modern industrial networks. Models from PSE220 include web server functionality, while PSE460 and above are Industry 4.0 and IoT ready, allowing enhanced monitoring and connectivity.
