The Parker Balston CMM Air Dryer is specifically engineered to deliver clean, dry compressed air for Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs). By combining high-efficiency coalescing filtration with proven membrane drying technology, the system provides a consistent supply of compressed air with a guaranteed dew point of 35°F (2°C).
Coordinate Measurement Machines rely on precision air bearings and sensitive internal components to maintain high levels of measurement accuracy. Contaminants such as oil aerosols, liquid water and particulates within the compressed air supply can damage these systems, leading to inaccurate measurements, premature wear and costly repairs.
Balston CMM air dryers address this issue by integrating superior coalescing filtration with an advanced membrane air drying module. The filtration stage removes oil, liquid water and particulate contamination before the air enters the membrane system. The membrane then removes water vapour from the compressed air stream, ensuring a stable and reliable dew point suitable for precision metrology equipment.
The dryer is designed to supply pure, dry compressed air directly to CMM systems, helping to eliminate failures and repair costs associated with contaminated air supplies. Because the system operates without electrical power and contains no moving parts, it offers low operating costs, exceptional reliability and minimal maintenance requirements.
Available in two models, Balston CMM air dryers can deliver dry compressed air at flow rates of up to 15 SCFM (25.5 Nm³/h). The compact design allows for simple installation near the measurement equipment, ensuring consistent air quality at the point of use.
With its combination of reliable membrane technology, integrated filtration and purpose-built design for precision measurement equipment, the Parker Balston CMM air dryer provides a dependable solution for maintaining accurate, stable and contamination-free compressed air supplies for coordinate measuring machines.
