The Parker Balston Membrane Air Dryer System provides an efficient and reliable solution for removing moisture from compressed air using advanced membrane drying technology combined with high-efficiency coalescing filtration. Designed for simple installation and dependable long-term operation, these dryers deliver clean, dry compressed air with low operating costs and minimal maintenance requirements.
The system integrates superior coalescing filtration with an innovative membrane separation process. The coalescing filter removes liquid water, oil aerosols and particulate contaminants from the compressed air stream before it enters the membrane module. This protects the membrane fibres and ensures optimal drying performance.
Once the compressed air passes through the filtration stage, it enters the membrane drying module, where water vapour selectively permeates through the membrane fibres and is carried away by a controlled purge stream. This process produces a consistent outlet dew point of +35°F (approximately +2°C) under typical operating conditions.
When the upstream compressed air system already includes a refrigerated air dryer, the inlet air dew point is lower, allowing the Balston membrane dryer to deliver an improved outlet dew point of approximately +15°F (-9°C).
The Balston membrane dryer series is available in eight models, supporting compressed air flow rates of up to 100 SCFM (170 Nm³/h). The compact design allows installation directly at point-of-use locations, making it ideal for applications requiring reliable dry air without the complexity of traditional desiccant drying systems.
Because membrane dryers operate without moving parts and require no electrical power for regeneration, they offer low lifecycle costs, minimal maintenance and excellent reliability. These characteristics make them suitable for installations where continuous dry air supply and operational simplicity are critical.
The Parker Balston membrane air dryer system delivers consistent compressed air drying performance with simple installation, efficient operation and long service life, making it a practical solution for industrial, laboratory and instrumentation air systems.
